A year has passed since I first started Finding Nimmo, this quest for documentation of the quest.  And 12 months and only 15 posts later this is where I stand:

  • I still have to find Nimmo, she is one of that ever elusive variety who just happens to flutter away like a mirage the moment I think I have found her.
  • All girls I have ever really really really liked, are either in States, or in the process of going there.
  • I have discovered recently that females in my workplace are taller than average. While most profiles I see are 5′3″ tall, I mistakenly assumed that it was the average height worldwide. Three arranged meetings and some casual inquiries later I can safely tell that it is not, and Nimmo would at least be 5′7″ tall to stand royally next to me and make me proud.
  • Matchmakers assume that heavy body people would fit in with other heavy bodied people. That may not be the case always. Though as a precaution, I am actively avoiding nutritionists :), I would love Nimmo to be, what is humanly considered,  as a fit person. I want someone who can push me for aerobics/ dancing/ cardio, and provide some inspiration for it.
  • Speaking of dancing, I have enrolled myself in SDIPA classes, and under the watchful eyes of Debashree  (who is uber-hot FYI) and Urvesh, am learning to Jig on “Deewanagi … Deewanagi (the rainbow mix) ” from OSO.
  • Why the dancing part all of a sudden ? Well, I got a chance to dance with a crush on a friend’s sister’s wedding, but I could not go ahead with it because I thought I’d make a fool of myself. I ended up making a awkward moment,  ruining one dance for the said female.  Karma bit me back later when I wanted to ask her out for dance, and was refused the chance.
  • I ran the Free Hugs Campaign in Mood I this year, and managed to hug 17 females, an all time high in the life of this ogre :)
  • I made quite a few friends of the fairer variety this year:  a  goddess of misspelling, a queen of chembur, a social psychologist, someone who’s life ees as eet ees, dhakkan, heartbreaker, medems, karate students and what not. Working for a social networking firm, I am now exploring friends of friends, and will report on how things go.  So far person who claimed to introduce IIT to the movie Garden State is still to pick up her Last Kiss, and person who says tall, stocky people with long fingers and sense of humor turn her on has put me on a limited profile view on facebook.

So far, so good.

The highlight of this year has been that I woke up in the new year in company of 3  females, and today on Valentine’s day am going out with one of them to see a play at Prithvi. Its another thing altogether that for both occasions, the number of males present were/are still more than twice the number of females. But, babes are not like News, where no news is good, instead they are birds, where one in hand is worth two in bush.

And as I came with that sidey metaphor, my fortune cookie told me that the bird in hand will put turd on your wrist.

Like I said, its complicated.

If you’re still reading, Happy Valentine’s Day!
